Religion is convenience !!!

I am aware that i should be writing this with utmost care so that religious sentiments are not hurt, if i do so pardon me !! What is religion - Its a set of beliefs you are born with and more often than not its the soceity which makes you beleive that you are following your religion !! stumped hold on let me explain : If a hindu goes to a temple he applauded by hindu peers, similarly if a muslim keeps fast during Ramzan he is considered pious !! Give me a break what about people who go to mandirs and masjids and behave in uncivilised manner. At the end of it religion today is a matter of convenience !! How can a muslim avoid watching TV for a month during ramzan or a hindu avoid eating non-veg on the SACRED days !!! Lets be grown ups and ask ourselves are we following any religion or are we cosmopolitan !!

Minority = Majority ( Yes !!)

Let me firstly define what is minority according to my belief, it is any community which is 1/10000th of number of the total population of an area, state or a country. There is a long time belief that there is strength in numbers which i beg to differ. At the end of this article you would probably agree with me that there is strength in minority. Lets try and understand why i am trying to say this. Because the whole world is trying to get more number of people to follow a religion and hence get strength from the fact that there are the largest, but i guess they are missing a point here, QUALITY of people in your community.

For me minority is PARSI, in a country like India and if you see even in their minority they are a majority. Let me explain before you think i have gone insane, its a well known fact that it is a very small knit family (its not an exaggeration considering our population) and also that majority of them are at the helm of affairs in our country for years, Jamshedji Tata, Ratan Tata are a very few of the many names i can think of. And yes here i would like to make a point of Quality of people too !!!! Needless to point out TATA's decison influence the masses in INDIA.

The second example i would like to stress on is a little Hard to digest. If you are a foodie and spend your time going out with Marwaris or Gujurathi (Gujju) freinds or if you know that there is something called as JAIN Food. I know by now you will be contemplating whether i read a shitty article but just relax and let me explain. We all know these communities are a minority and the JAIN FOOD is prefered by a minority in these very communities, but excuse me at every well known restaurant or a food joint you will have a JAIN MENU especially for these Guys.

Long Live Minorities !!! And Since they influence a majority; they are a MAJORITY!!!

Key to success of a Marriage (Shaadi) !!

Well, Well, Well

We all wish and hope that when two people agree to get married (Love or Arrange) that everything goes well for them after they TIE the sacred knot. I am sure both the parties here work on lot of assumptions and expectations irrespective of what type of marriage it is !! Lot has been said and infact mocked about how married couple act react to various situations ! Just to give you folks the cliche phrases which goes round atleast in India are " Shaadi aisaa ladoo hain, Jo khaye woh pachtayee ...." " ghar pe Home minister ..........." I am here to discuss how can we keep the marriage ALIVE and KICKING (wink!)

  • You need to give your spouse SPACE, respect his/her individuality.
  • Communicate clear and precise about expectations
  • AND the most CRUCIAL " Aap apni patni/ patti ke itne acche Dost bann jaaoo kii SHAADI bhi tumhara kuchh bhi bigadd na payee" for my Firaang freinds "You need to be best of FRIENDS with your spouse to avoid the ITCH in a marriage".

Individual Rationality lead to collective irrationality

30th April The day for Mumbaikars approx. 30 million people out of which only 41 % voted inspite of all the hype which NGO's, internet companies like JAAGORE.COM and social workers created. The people who burned effigies and lighted candles could not come out and vote.
What could be the reasons for lower voter turnout ( rational thinking)
1. 4 day long weekend
2. Will one vote really make the difference
3. Name not there in the voting list
4. Not there in the town busy with something else
Above all since i am a management student and have to throw some funda i think the product (the politician and the parties) itself was BAD so any amount of marketing or promotional tactic would have failed and eventually it failed.
So the next question, what should be done to have high voter turnout
1. Everybody who votes should be aware of the Parties agenda for everyone
2.The voter must also be aware of candidates record and also his plans for his constituency
Even if you do all these things right and get a 1st class voter turnout next time, a wise man has said "In a democracy apathy of a common MAN will remain the same or even worse than in a dictatorship"

Creative solutions for a Courier company

You have an important document to deliver in Mumbai or get one.
Think of a courier company who will do it for you in a minimum fuss.
Actually we are here talking about the company angle and not the customer angle i.e how it will manage to deliver the parcel to you at right time place and price.

We have listed a few solutions to the logistics problem ( which is open to debate)
We have taken the example of Mumbai city to find solutions or to improve the service of courier company.

We can have Boxes of every courier company at railway stations which will minimise the sorting time which consumes a lot of time and hence will be able to serve the customer.

BEST buses and its conductors can be used for transfer of parcel.

Hot air ballons for transfer.

Scatting and ropes for transfer of parcels.

Trends in 2015 - Excerpts from Mckinsey

What are the currents that will make the world of 2015 a very different place to do business from the world of today?

Macroeconomic trends
1. Centers of economic activity will shift profoundly, not just globally, but also regionally. As a consequence of economic liberalization, technological advances, capital market developments, and demographic shifts, the world has embarked on a massive realignment of economic activity.
2. Public-sector activities will balloon, making productivity gains essential. The unprecedented aging of populations across the developed world will call for new levels of efficiency and creativity from the public sector. Without clear productivity gains, the pension and health care burden will drive taxes to stifling proportions.
3. The consumer landscape will change and expand significantly. Almost a billion new consumers will enter the global marketplace in the next decade as economic growth in emerging markets pushes them beyond the threshold level of $5,000 in annual household income—a point when people generally begin to spend on discretionary goods. From now to 2015, the consumer's spending power in emerging economies will increase from $4 trillion to more than $9 trillion—nearly the current spending power of Western Europe.

Social and environmental trends
4. Technological connectivity will transform the way people live and interact. The technology revolution has been just that. Yet we are at the early, not mature, stage of this revolution. Individuals, public sectors, and businesses are learning how to make the best use of IT in designing processes and in developing and accessing knowledge. New developments in fields such as biotechnology, laser technology, and nanotechnology are moving well beyond the realm of products and services.
5. The battlefield for talent will shift. Ongoing shifts in labor and talent will be far more profound than the widely observed migration of jobs to low-wage countries. The shift to knowledge-intensive industries highlights the importance and scarcity of well-trained talent. The increasing integration of global labor markets, however, is opening up vast new talent sources.
6. The role and behavior of big business will come under increasingly sharp scrutiny. As businesses expand their global reach, and as the economic demands on the environment intensify, the level of societal suspicion about big business is likely to increase. The tenets of current global business ideology—for example, shareholder value, free trade, intellectual-property rights, and profit repatriation—are not understood, let alone accepted, in many parts of the world. Scandals and environmental mishaps seem as inevitable as the likelihood that these incidents will be subsequently blown out of proportion, thereby fueling resentment and creating a political and regulatory backlash.
7. Demand for natural resources will grow, as will the strain on the environment. As economic growth accelerates—particularly in emerging markets—we are using natural resources at unprecedented rates. Oil demand is projected to grow by 50 percent in the next two decades, and without large new discoveries or radical innovations supply is unlikely to keep up.

The 3 C's

Corrutption Crime and communalism - Quoted by Dr.Hannan Ezekeil

These 3 C's hamper our country's pogress.

We should innovatively avoid corruption, encorage and device policies which will keep it out of our system.
Example - Simple thing like making the passport form available online eliminates the middlemen who otherwise have charged you for standing in line.

For crime rates to come done we must ensure that the IMPLEMENTATION of the devised policies is right and over and above we must check first whether the framework can be challenged in first place

Foster community building exercises and preach securalism help to acive the goals faster and more importantly better.
